On February 8, 2017, ECFA received a delegation of 23 American Jews from different social and professional backgrounds, headed by Mr. John Lipotlier, former US Congressman for the Republican Party of New York, and Mr. Eric Mandel, Founder and Director MEPIN “, as part of the delegation meetings with a number of civil society organizations, including ECFA, to know ECFA’s view of prospects of Egyptian-American relations under the new administration, and its vision of the Middle East peace process in the future.
Ambassador Dr. Mounir Zahran welcomed the delegation and reviewed ECFA history, role and interaction with counterpart centers and councils around the world.
The discussions covered several topics, including Egypt’s assessment of its democratic transition experience, Egyptian-American relations in the light of the election of Donald Trump as the new US president, Egypt and its regional role.
