On June 6, 2021, the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs hosted a number of its members to discuss chances to support the Palestinian right in the framework of the global momentum in this regard, especially in light of the internal movement witnessed in Israel, as well as the United States, in favor of the Palestinian people. The meeting was attended by Ambassador Dr. Ezzat Saad, ECFA Director, Palestinian Ambassador to Egypt Barakat Al-Farra, Ambassador Dr. Mohamed Mostafa Kamal, businessman Mr. Mohamed Kassem, and Prof. Dr. Aly El Ghatit, legal expert.
The participants agreed on the importance for the relevant initiative to be far from the official government agencies, and also far from offering solutions to the cause, but needs to be based on the legal facts issued by the UN bodies, which are indisputable, while attempting to link the recent Israeli violations with the international failure to activate the relevant international resolutions, to awaken global conscience, and to urge the necessity of a non-delayed solution to the Palestinian cause.
In this context, the meeting concluded with an agreement to formulate an initial founding statement directed to all lovers of peace and justice in all parts of the world, the paragraphs of which constitute the relevant effective legal texts, with the continuous coordination of the participating members to agree later on the mechanisms that can be activated to benefit from them in this regard, including communication with renowned personalities, who are famous for their positions condemning the Israeli attacks in the occupied territories, such as Bernie Sanders for example…etc.
