Symposium on the book by Dr. Heba Gamal El Din – ECFA Member “Spiritual Diplomacy and the Abrahamic Interfaith: Colonial Plan Of The New Century”
July 28, 2021Visit to ECFA by a delegation of the Coordination Committee of Parties’ Youth Leaders and Politicians in the House of Representatives and the Senate
August 5, 2021On August 1, 2021, the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs hosted Dr. Mahmoud Daher Aweys, of Somali-American nationality, head of the Somali National Consultation Party, and whom ECFA had previously received on November 18, 2020, and June 3, 2021, to talk about Egyptian-Somali relations and the Ethiopian position on developments in Somalia.
At the beginning of his speech, the guest stressed the importance of the Egyptian role in supporting Somalia, by providing scholarships, supporting the healthcare and medicine sector, and implementing economic projects, noting that many documented studies confirmed that his country has huge reserves of mineral resources, especially oil and gas.
This came in the context of his assertion of his pan-Arab orientation, and that the majority of the Somali people view that Egypt has a considerable stature, and that it is welcomed in Somalia, and consider that its moves are a solution to besieging the Ethiopian influence in Somalia, which he called the subversive role, which includes the recruitment of followers and agents in various locations, noting that the United States has recently realized that Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and the current Somali president are the ones who have empowered the Somali Al-Shabab movement, and that this is what the AFRICOM leader recently declared before Congress.
