The Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs (ECFA) is saddened to read the news regarding the passing away of Professor James McGann. ECFA and its members wish, at this occasion, to extend heartfelt condolences on the death of Professor James McGann, founder and director of Think Tanks and Civil Society Programme (TTCSP) at the University of Pennsylvania, and one of its most prominent academic cadres, on the 29th of last November.
ECFA takes this opportunity to express its appreciation and gratitude for the contributions made by Professor McGann in enriching the work of think tanks worldwide, and his efforts in formulating the Global Think Tank Network that endeavors to enhance cooperation among its members in issues taking place in the international arena. His sudden and unexpected death came amid preparations for holding the Global Think Tanks Summit in Bahrain this December 2021.
As ECFA mourns one of its loyal cooperation partners, it conveys its heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Prof. McGann. We will hence remember him and his leadership and hope for the continuation of his life’s work in strengthening the footsteps of Think Tanks and Civil Societies through the Global Think Tank Network.
