The Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs condemns in the strongest terms the recent statements issued by Israeli Ministers Smotrich and Ben Gvir, calling for the displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip and their resettlement outside it, stressing that this action is a war crime that violates the rules of international law and international humanitarian law.
The Council holds the international community fully responsible for stopping the Israeli displacement plans, which were a permanent and systematic Israeli policy before and after the establishment of the occupation state, and increased talk about them after the current extremist government took over the reins of affairs in Israel, as well as the need to stop the massacres that Israeli forces continue to commit in the occupied Palestinian territories, especially in the Gaza Strip, since the seventh of last October.
Taking note of the statement issued by the Office of the Spokesperson of the United States Department of State, rejecting these shameful statements and describing them as “inflammatory and irresponsible”, the Council renews its condemnation of the blatant involvement of the United States Administration in the Israeli aggression against the Palestinians, where Washington has provided various types of military, financial and media support to the occupying Power, and has not hesitated to use its veto power in the United Nations Security Council against all draft resolutions that targeted an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, which increased the number of victims. of the martyrs and injured innocent civilians. The Council therefore urges Washington to take courageous positions so that its words are consistent with its actions. In this context, the Council condemns the inaction of the US administration, which has fully complied with the status quo before an Israeli government that has not been shy about asserting a Greater Israel over all the occupied territories, which is defined not only as a Jewish state, but as a state in which Jewish superiority over all Palestinians is enshrined.
The Council once again warns that “Toofan Al-Aqsa ” operation did not come from a vacuum, as stressed by Mr. Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, and that it is necessary to put an end to the Israeli crimes in the occupied Palestinian territories, where the Palestinian people have been terrorized, killed, displaced, demolished and detained for years, by the Israeli occupation forces for decades, under the watch, and with the support of, the United States, without any political horizon that can guarantee them their legitimate rights in accordance with the resolutions of International legitimacy. The Council reaffirms that the restoration of the usurped rights of the Palestinian people and the finding of a just, comprehensive and lasting solution to the Palestinian question on the basis of the two-State solution, through the establishment of a Palestinian State within the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, is the only guarantee for achieving security and stability in the Middle East and the world.
